Suggestions for purchase from library members are welcomed by Clarence Regional Library.

If you would like to recommend an item to be purchased using our online form, click on the “Suggest a Purchase” option on the right-hand side under My Library on the catalogue and sign in using your library barcode number and Password/PIN or visit your nearest library.

Your suggestion will be considered on broad merit appeal, content, adherence to our Collection Development Policy guidelines and current budgetary restrictions.suggestions

Preference is given to titles published within the last 12 months and there is no restriction to collection – fiction or non-fiction.

Placing a suggestion for purchase is not a guarantee that the item will be purchased and due to the large volume of requests received we are unable to respond with individual updates for each suggestion received.

Should a suggested title be declined, you can always try to obtain the item through our Inter Library Loans service for a small administation fee. A short message indicating that the request has been denied will be attached to your library membership details which you can access by Login to My Library or visiting your nearest library.

When a suggested item is ordered, a reservation is automatically placed on it for you.

We get that there are authors that our borrowers just can’t get enough of — Nora Roberts, anyone?  Click on our Adult Fiction standing order author list to see if your favourites are there.  If they are, you can be sure that we’ll order their latest title for your reading pleasure.  Keep an eye on our catalogue.

Don’t want to keep checking?  Set up an Alert Profile.  You’ll receive an email when the title is available to reserve.  How easy is that?
